Our Journey

Kathryn and Emily met in 2025 at Trinity College, studying their MSc in Entrepreneurship. After watching each other pitch in a class competition, they realised they were exploring similar ideas around AI and regulation.
They decided to meet for a coffee.
They realised that the EU AI Act compliance requirements were going to create an unfair burden to businesses that use AI.
After interviewing over 40 professional services firms to see how the market was responding, they found that there was no practical way for any business to adhere to the stringent regulations. Outsourcing compliance runs around €319,000 upfront and €100,000 a year thereafter, and still only delivers a one-off snapshot against an Act that demands ongoing compliance.
Companies that use AI risk fines up to €35M or 7% of global annual turnover if they do not comply with the EU AI Act. Manual compliance is incredibly costly, complex, and time-consuming. So what are companies supposed to do?
In response, we co-founded Nora Comply. Our software automates on-going EU AI Act compliance, transforming stringent regulatory demands into a simple automated process. Our entry product NoraLite helps businesses be in line with the Act as it stands today.
